Katy Guillen & The Drive with Special Guest The Burney Sisters

Katy Guillen & The Drive with Special Guest The Burney Sisters

Under 21 with Guardian

Katy Guillen & THe Drive
Through the course of writing, refining and recording their debut full-length album, “Another One Gained,” Katy Guillen & The Drive delved into the catharsis of a bittersweet moment in time. Recorded with Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, Heartless Bastards) at Invisible Creature Studio in Los Angeles, the 10-track effort was met with high praise upon its 2022 release. Accompanied by drummer Stephanie Williams’ melodically exacting rhythms, Guillen’s emotive guitar playing aligns with her lyrics to meet at the crossroads of suffering and silver linings.

As lauded by Under The Radar Magazine, the duo evokes a “simple and timeless indie rock sound carried by Guillen’s chugging guitar and Williams’ driving drums, yet they also show off effortless instrumental chemistry, locking into an easygoing groove that gives both members a chance to shine.”

The Burney Sisters
The Burney Sisters, comprised of sisters Emma (15), and recently joined 13-year-old sister Bella, create music with a maturity and emotional intelligence that belies their age. Emma and Bella write keen and knowing songs while also arranging for multiple instruments and structuring unique and resonant harmonies.  The result is personal and penetrating music that both connects with and captivates their listener. Their soul nurturing sibling harmonies and tunes are reminiscent of The Avett Brothers, First Aid Kit, Brandi Carlile, The Staves, and Joseph.

They have played stages big and small, opening for such legends as Wynonna Judd, Jo Dee Messina, Larkin Poe, Del McCoury, and ‘The Voice’ alum Sawyer Fredericks. Playing festival stages such as Blissfest, Shoe Fest, Shipyard, Moccasin Creek, Columbia’s Roots N Blues, and most notably, the Cayamo Music Cruise in 2023. This affords them exciting opportunities to play main stages, sharing lineups, festivals, a cruise, and ampitheaters with artists including Jeff Tweedy, The Avett Brothers, Sheryl Crowe, and Brandi Carlile, to name just a few.

You can find the Burney Sisters’ music on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play and Amazon. Stay connected on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to hear about upcoming events and Sign up on Patreon.com to get first access to new music and behind the scenes experiences of their journey.
