Established in 2023, Nami came to life through a serendipitous connection and shared musical vision between co-workers Imani Mason and Nina Cherry. An impromptu jam session during some downtime while teaching music lessons quickly proved to be a natural and cohesive creative collaboration.

The genre-defying duo features the talents of Chicago-native and Nashville trained bassist and vocalist Imani Mason and Kansas City-steeped Nina Cherry on keys and Vocals.

Bringing their original materials to the forefront, Nami weaves together an eclectic mix of new tunes and fresh renditions funk, soul and jazz standards, promising an energetic and memorable performance.
