Elwood and The Blues Masters

Under 21 with Guardian
Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen and welcome from ELWOOD AND THE BLUES MASTERS. Well here it is 2025, forty years past 1985, and, you know, so much of the music you hear today is pre-programmed computer AI generated electronic music, you rarely get a chance to hear Master Blues Men practicing their craft anymore. By the year 2030 the music known today as The Blues may exist only in the classical records digital archives of your local public library.
But tonight, ladies and gentlemen, we are proud to publicly announce and introduce to Kansas City, the return performance of a fabulous rhythm and blues review in the tradition of the great soul artists Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Booker T. and the MG's, and from Rock Island Illinois, the Blues Men of Joliet, Jake and Elwood Blues, THE BLUES BROTHERS.
ELWOOD AND THE BLUES MASTERS is comprised of some of the best musicians Kansas City has to offer, including Bryan Wood on saxophone, Fred Zimmerman on trombone, Pat Pearce on Keys (all formerly of ATLANTIC EXPRESS and other prominent bands), Cole Gurley on Bari sax (also of The MGDs), Byron Jones on trumpet (also of The Lucky So and Sos), Chris Payne on bass (formerly of PLATINUM EXPRESS), Scott Christensen on guitar, Dennis Marx on drums, and Russ Dameron on vocals and harmonica (the latter three also of The TrueTones).
We do sincerely hope you all come out and enjoy the show, and please remember people, that no matter who you are and what you do to live, thrive and survive, there are still some things that make us all the same. You, me, them, everybody. Everybody.
Everybody needs somebody. And we need you. We can't do this alone. We only got a full tank of gas. A half a pack of cigarettes. It's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses. But we're on a mission from God. Hit it!
